The role of programmed ventricular stimulation in Brugada syndrome remains controversial.Agreement exists about the good negative predictive value of the test, but there is substantial discrepancy between the different registries regarding the predictive valueof inducibility for arrhythmic events in asymptomatic patients. The purpose of this presentation is to summarize the available data related to the role of electrophysiological investigation and programmed ventricular stimulation in Brugada syndrome and discuss its potential value in risk stratifying asymptomatic individuals with an electrocardiogram diagnostic of Brugada syndrome.
