自行车是中国最为常见的代步工具,从繁华都市到穷乡僻壤,无处不有。作为一项颇富创意的机械发明,自行车于19世纪60年代由欧洲传入中国,迄今已有一百多年的历史。本文拟就自行车传入后国人的观感、认知、使用以及所引起的社会治安和交通管理等问题,略作探讨,以期从一个侧面显现交通工具变革对人们社会生活的影响~(1)。因资料所限,相关讨论,多以上海为中心,兼涉其他地区。
Bicycles are the most common means of transport in China, from the bustling city to the backcountry, everywhere. As a creative mechanical invention, bicycles were introduced into China from Europe in the 1860s and have been more than 100 years old. This paper attempts to discuss briefly the perception, cognition and use of bicycles after the introduction of bicycles and the issues of social security and traffic management caused by them, with a view to revealing the impact of transport revolution on people ’s social life from one aspect. Due to limited information, the relevant discussions, mostly in Shanghai as the center, involving other regions.
