  The production of highly reactive low temperature belite binder is one promising concept to reduce the energy demand and CO2 emissions in cement production.Belite has several well-known advantages in comparison to alite, the main constituent of Ordinary Portland Cement clinker.If belite and alite reach the same degree of hydration, belite will form more C-S-H and less Ca(OH)2 than alite which can result in a denser and more resistant matrix.Additionally, the specific heat of hydration of belite is lower.Therefore belite exhibits the capability for an efficient binder with excellent durability.
