Type 2 diabetes (T2D) is characterized by insulin resistance and increased glucose production.microRNAS (miRs) have been identified as a new class of regulatory molecules that influence many biological functions and are implicated in T2D.In the present study, we show that miR-451 is upregulated in the liver of dietary and genetic mouse models of diabetes.Through adenovirus expression system, we found overexpression of miR-451 in normal mice exhibited hypoglycemia and reduced hepatic gluconeogenesis.
