Biomaterials based on regenerated silk fibroin have been reported due to the excellent mechanical property, the biocompatibility and the biodegradability of silk fibroin. This work reports the characterization of interfaces of hexadecane oil and aqueous silk fibroin at various concentrations.Oscillatory shear experiments were performed at such interfaces, which were found to be solid and gel-like.Silk fibroin molecules were absorbed onto the interface within the first 10 minutes, after which a slow continuous gelation process of the silk film was observed.
