Carboxylesterases (CaEs) are a large and diverse class of enzymes implicated in xenobiotic detoxification, hormone and pheromone degradation, neurogenesis and regulating development.Although CaEs have been extensively studied in insects, the research on rice stem borers is still poor.In the present study, we cloned a CaE gene (CsCaE26) from the striped stem borer, Chilo suppressalis (Lepidoptera: Pyralidae).
