The main purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of Ca2+/calmodulin (CaM) on voltage-gated sodium channels (VGSCs) in the cultured hippocampal neurons exposed to low Mg2+.Our data showed that the channel activity of persistent, non-inactivating Na+ current (INa,P)both in the normal and treatment group was regulated by CaM in a concentration-dependent manner.
