The study quantitatively investigates the long-term dynamics of the association between natural disasters and agriculturalistsmigration in historical China.Population pressure is also included because migration is a population density-dependent phenomenon.By collecting updated datasets with a study span of 210 BC-AD 1800,the study has adopted correlation analysis, multivariate linear/Poisson regression analyses, and ARX model to analyze the push effects from natural disasters and population pressure.According to the results, population pressure acts a more significant role in triggering the agriculturalistsmigration in a long term than natural disasters.Furthermore,ARX results even show that the lasting effects of population pressure which could add up to induce more migration occurrence from a long run.
