STUDY ON THE INTEGRATION OF MANUFACTURING INFORMATION FLOW AND MATERIAL FLOW BASED ON RFID TECHNOLOG

  To solve the bottle-neck of information isolation and delay in discrete manufacturing,which has puzzled the managers due to disadvantages of traditional capture method by barcode or manual,RFID(Radio Frequency Identification) technology is put forward as a new way to provide accurate and updated information about individuals,as well as to deal with multiple data effectively and monitor the production line timely.The information can be shared by MES and ERP simultaneously.Following that several applications of RFID technology in discrete manufacturing are presented,then a synchronization architecture of information flow and material flow based on REID is proposed,which includes production planning,real-time monitoring,assembly management and supervision of product quality.Furthermore,the implementation of WIP(Work In Process) management in machining process is used to show how RFID works and how to realize the synchronization.Finally,the paper draws a conclusion that REID will bring more benefits to discrete manufacturing.
