  臭氧是对流层大气最重要的痕量气体成分之一,对大气氧化能力和太阳辐射有着重要影响,危害人体和农作物健康,因而在大气化学、气候变化和区域空气质量中扮演重要角色。由于臭氧对环境及人类的影响,研究区域背景大气的臭氧长期变化趋势,有利于评估区域长期的大气化学、气候变化及空气质量的特点。臭氧的长期变化趋势及其潜在原因已经在欧美及日本等国进行了广泛的研究。与之相比,污染相对较严重的中国关于臭氧的长期监测数据则相对较少。
