It is well known that most of oleo-chemical products are intermediate chemicals, which sequentially will be used as the raw materials for lubricants, cosmetics, and house holding chemical etc.,or as additives for food.Usually those companies have to set up a very high quality standard for their income raw materials. Thus, there is a big challenge to oleo-chemical producers, because their product price and quality both need to show competitive advantages in the market. The same as the final product manufacturers, high quality products need to use qualified incoming raw material. That gives a lot of pressure to the quality control laboratory, because classical wet chemistry analysis is very time consuming and daily analytical capacity is limited, far away from satisfying daily tons of income raw materials by trucks. In order to increase quality control laboratory capacity,we developed a semi-automatic controlled Near Infrared Spectroscopy application. In which,a NIR instrument combined with an autosarnpler was set up in a quality control station on the side of the weigh bridge, especially for incoming raw material analysis. With one scan, raw material qualifying our specification will be recognized and directly unloaded into production storage tanks for use;whereas the out-of-specification raw material will be rejected directly from the weigh bridge to return to the producers.Near Infrared modeling(NIR)techniques, such as NIR data treatment,PCA,PLS and how to use Principal Component space Mahalanobis Distance to control the pass/fail via reference library will be discussed in this paper.
