Synthesis of a New 1-D Chain of Ni6-substituted Polyoxometalate

  A new 1-D chain,{[Ni6(OH)3(H2O)2(en)3(PW9O34)](1,3-bdc)}[Ni(en)2]·H2O (en = ethylenediamine,1,3-bdc= Benzene-1,3-dicarboxylic acid),based on the Ni6-cluster substituted polyoxometalate,has been synthesized underhydrothermal conditions and its structure has been determined by single crystal X-ray diffraction.It is found that acombination of the the hexanuclear [Ni6(μ3-OH)3]9+ cluster and trivacant Keggin B-α-PW9O34 unit act as a SBU,further linked by 1,3-bdc ligand to form a 1-D chain.Crystal data:orthorhombic space group P212121,a =13.3441(3) (A),b = 14.2773(3) (A),c = 36.0138(11) (A),V = 6861.3 (A)3,R1 = 0.0473.
