Russian wheat aphid (RWA),Diuraphis noxia (Kurdjumov),is an important insect pest that poses threats to wheat production in the US and many other areas of the world. Many new biotypes of RWA have also emerged in recent years, threatening the use of host plant resistance genes for control.Lack of knowledge in the interaction between the RWA and its host plant limits developing effective strategies for controlling the aphid.
