The physical mechanisms of kerogen decomposition,hydraulic fracturing,adsorption and transport in shale are of key interest to engineering practice.In this work,a bottom-up method of simulations,theory and experiments is employed to study these fundamental problems in the exploitation of shale gas resources from atomic level,as shown in Fig.1.
