Two ensemble hindcast experiments with IAP9L_CoLM general circulation model have been performed to investigate the impact of initial snow anomalies over Tibetan Plateau on skill in the GCM.For one of the experiment, the initial snow states over the Tibetan plateau are climatological values;for the other experiment (SAE experiment), the initial snow anomalies are considered take from the February SMMR snow depth estimates.For this study, the difference between these two experiments is assessed to evaluate the impact of initial snow anomalies over the Tibetan Plateau on hindcasted precipitation in spring and summer.Evaluation of skill is focused on Eastern China.
