MicroRNAs (miRNAs) are a family of small non-coding RNA molecules of about 21-25 nucleotides in length, which negatively regulate protein-coding genes at post-transcriptional level. After using miRNA array and stem-loop real-time-PCR method, we found that miR-17-92 is overexpressed in oesophageal carcinoma. To explore the relationship between this dysregulated miRNA cluster and one of the most significant signaling pathway in animal development and human carcinogenesis-Wnt/Wingless (Wg) pathway, a computational analysis was performed to screen the target genes of this cluster.
