The different adsorption behaviors of Methylene blue (MB) and Rhodamine B (RhB) on activated carbon/CoFe2O4 magnetic composites was investigated. The experimental results showed MB were adsorbed in much higher amounts as compared to RhB. The two dyes fitted well with the Freundlich model with the adsorption capacity of 107 mg/g for MB and 58 mg/g for RhB at room temperature. The adsorption kinetics of both dyes was found to follow pseudo-second-order kinetic model. The regeneration of carbon/CoFe2O4 adsorbents was also investigated, which indicated that it was a promising adsorbent in environmental application.
