Objectives To investigate the effects of homocysteine(Hcy)induced matrix metalloproteinase-2(MMP-2)and cell migration in rat vascular smooth muscle cells(VSM-Cs)and the reverse of rosuvastatin.Methods Gelatin zymography and western blotting were used to investigate the effects of different Hcy levels(50-5 000 μmol/L)on MMP-2 expression and activity for 24 h,48 h and 72 h,and the effects of different rosuvastatin concentrations(10-9-10-5 mol/L)on homocysteine-induced(1000 μmol/L)MMP-2 expression and activity in cultured rat VSMCs for 24 h,48 h and 72 h.
