The aim of this study was to constnct the recombinant swain expressing OmpC gene of Salmonella pullorum by Bacillus subtilis expression system and evaluate immune activity of recombinant bacteria.The Bacillus subtilis WB800n that is lack of extracellular enzyme was selected as host bacteria.The result showed that the recombinant Bacillus subtilis pHT43/WB800n-OmpC expressing OmpC gene was successfully constructed, the molecular weight of the expressed recombinant protein was about 37kDa by the experiments of SDS-pAGE and western blot confirmed the recombinant protein had good reactogenicity.Furthermorm, the humoral immunity of chick can be induced by oral immunization with recombinant strain of Bacillus subtilis pHT43/WB800n-OmpC, The challenge of Salmonella showed that the immunity protection rates was 76.93%.Based on experiments, it is concluded that the gene OmpC of Salmonella firstly expressed in Bacillus subtilis, which lay a theoretical foundation for Salmonella immune mechanism and developing of genetic engineering probiotics that play a dual role after oral immunization.
