Placental growth factor (PIGF) has been demonstrated to express in CNS and involve in cerebral ischemia injury.Our study explored the mechanisms about the neuroprotective effects of PIGF on cortical neuronal apoptosis caused by oxygen-glucose deprivation (OGD).OGD treated primary neurons were exposed to PIGF and inhibitors of phosphoinositide-3 kinase or mitogen activated protein kinase (MAPK).
