The flipped classroom and project-based learning have become effective models in College English teaching. In contrast with the traditional teacher-centered model, both of the two approaches are student-centered. The flipped classroom is a teaching strategy that intentionally inverts the traditional teaching arrangement by moving the content delivery out of classroom. The project-based learning is a task-driven and project-oriented model that combines knowledge acquisition and practical application. In order to solve the problem of limited class time and fulfill different needs of various study groups in project-based learning, the author proposes the combination of the flipped classroom and project-based learning and explores the application of the blending model in College English teaching. The present study is expected to improve the teaching outcome of College English and provide further insights into the research and reform of College English teaching.
