Objective:Application of preoperative traction to the injured extremity in patients with femoral neck fracture is commonly used for pain relief, provisional anatomical reduction, and correction of perturbations in vascular anatomy. However, preoperative traction may not prevent further vascular damage, inversely,it could impairs main nutrient vessels that provide blood supply to the femoral head, especially the medial circumflex femoral artery(CFA)system. We hypothesized that preoperative traction is a risk factor of osteonecrosis of femoral head(ONFH)for patients with stable femoral neck fractures.
