Objective: Cancer stem cells (CSCs) are believed to cause local recurrence, distant metastasis, as well as radiotherapy and chemotherapy resistance.We hypothesized that genetic variation in CD 133 (official name, PROM1), one of the most important marker genes of CSCs, may affect clinical outcomes among nonsmall cell lung cancer (NSCLC) patients treated with definitive radiotherapy.
