In this paper, the morphology, distributions and sizes of precipitated phase (Mg2Si) in 6181 aluminum alloy strips manufactured by twin roll casting (TRC) process without and with electric pulse current (EPC) and electromagnetic (EM) fields were investigated, and the hardness of specimens was examined at room temperature. The result showed the combined fields of EPC and EM can be more effective for uniform distributions and refinement of Mg2Si phase, whose sizes varied from 1.7 μm to 0.7 μm than non-fields.And the morphology of Mg2Si phase existed mainly in the form of rod-like and star-shaped.It was found that the maximum hardness value of the strip reach 82.3 HV, which was obtained by applying combined EPC and EM fields during TRC process.
