It is an important strategy to improve Brassica napus with use of natural variations of B.oleracea.However,the cytogenetic and genetic characterizations and heteosis potential in the progenies between B.napus and B.oleracea have remained poorly understood. In the present study, various chromosome pairings in pollen mother cells of F1 hybrids between B.napus and B.oleracea at diakinesis were found with the predominant configuration of 9Ⅱ + 10Ⅰ,and the segregation pattern of 9:19 exhibited high frequency relative to the theoretic distribution at anaphase Ⅰ.
