The worlds three best-selling parasiticides target three specific receptors, inhibitory glutamate receptors (IGluRs), nAChRs and GABARs.fipronil is highly effective against both piercing sucking and chewing insects, and has been proved to block GABA receptors and glutamate-gated chloride channels simultaneously. The A2N mutation of GABA receptor has been confirmed that it is associated with fipronil resistance in Sogatellafurcifera and Laodelphax striatellus. However, the GluCl gene ofLaodelphax striatellus was not cloned ever, not to mention the mutation.
