随着高阶联用仪器和多维校正的进一步发展，采用三阶校正进行的定量分析已提上议事日程。目前对三阶校正中的四维数据阵的解析主要是基于线性代数中的矩阵理论，即将四维数据沿着四个不同的方向进行不同程度的展开得到扩展的矩阵之后进行矩阵运算。
