The finite element method is applied to mesoscopically simulate the loose particles flowing in the process of compaction. The strain processes and deformation differences of the particles in the typical positions, and the porosities in different areas under various die wall friction coefficients were investigated. The results show that the die wall interface friction causes the diagonal flow of particles from the upper surface edges to the center of compaction, and it has a significant influence on the deformation and compression density uniformity of particles.
