3-Monochloropropanediol fatty acid esters (3-MCPD FEs) and glycidyl esters (GEs) have been increasingly attractive to the scientists and industry due to their toxicity.It is seriously necessary to mitigate the contaminants from the refined vegetable oils, especially as the ingredient oils of infant formula.Here a review of these measures to reduce the level of 3-MCPD FEs below 0.50mg/kg are presented.However, there is still a knowledge gap between the original chlorine donors and 3-MCPD FEs.
