Abscisic acid plays a key role in stress adaptation in plants.ABA metabolic genes can be targets for molecular breeding to improve stress tolerance in crops.ABA biosynthesis is mostly defined by sequential three enzymatic reactions and those steps are catalyzed by 9-cis-epoxycarotenoid dioxygenase (NCED),xanthoxin dehydrogenase (XanDH) and abscisic aldehyde oxidase (AAO), respectively.
