The leafhopper genus Hishimonus Ishihara (Cicadellidae: Deltocephalinae: Opsiini) was last comprehensively revised by Knight (1970) who recognised 25 species, 18 of which were described as new.Later work by a variety of authors has added additional species from Japan, India, China and Indonesia to bring the total known species in the genus to 48.We have now examined the genus in China, Thailand and Australia.
