Optimization of the Nose stay vane Structure of the Pump Turbine Model

  With the development of the pumped storage power station,the efficiency of the pump turbine has become a research topic in the field of the hydraulic power generation.A numerical simulation study of the pump turbine efficiency and pressure pulsation is carried out by changing the structure of the nose stay vane,opening an oblique straight hole on nose stay vane of the pump turbine.The results show that the efficiency of the pump is increased by 0.1%to 0.2%,that of the turbine varies from-0.012%to 0.0455%.It indicates that the perforated structure can improve the pump working efficiency obviously,while the operating efficiency of the turbine is almost unchanged.The amplitudes of the pressure pulsation mixing and the main frequency in the perforated model are increased,but the range is small,so the pressure pulsation in the vane-less region remains barely changed.
