Background & Aim:Gastric cancer is the second leading cause of cancer death in the world.Lymph node metastasis is a significant prognostic factor in gastric cancer.Recently,tumor-stromal interaction showed to be involved in many malignant phenotypes, including tumor metastasis. We have carried out a systematic study ofgene expression in gastric adenocarcinoma and nonneoplastic gastric mucosa. The expression of TAGLN,gene coding a actin-binding protein, was found to be highly associated with lymph node metastasis. In this study,we aimed to examine the role of TAGLN in invasion and metastasis of gastric cancer.
