For the first time,the dissimilarity between SNH and CNT was found in many aspects including cell uptake,cytotoxicity,apoptosis,necrosis,pyroptosis,acid hydrolases leakage,lysosome stress and membrane disturbance,as well as the interaction with membrane proteins,and the improved safety and biocompatibility of single walled nanohorns over four types of established carbon nanotubes were clearly demonstrated in macrophages.Based on quantitative proteomics technology,the proteins identified on SNH varied from CNT in category and quantity.
