Sjogrens syndrome is an autoimmune diseases, which characterized by involved in the salivary and lacrimal glands of external gland, and with features of high lymphocyte infiltration. At present, the incidence rate of SS is high, because of insidious onset, involving multiple system, its clinical manifestation was various and the misdiagnosis or underdiagnosis was a common occurrence. Its pathogenesis is unknown so far,may be related to infection, heredity, environment and so on.In recent years, using maging technology to find the early stage of SS has become the focus of exploration,in view of the different disadvantages of CT,MR,Parotid sialography and Labial salivary gland biopsy, there still lacks a imaging means which is nonradiative, high sensitivity, specificity, and can be widely used in clinical now. However, ultrasound because of its low price, nonradiative, strong repeatability, high resolution of soft tissue, can be developed in real-time have been applied into the dignosis of SS.In this paper, firstly the status of imageology in SS is analyzed, and found that the application value of ultrasound for SS is much higher than other imaging methods, then the ultrasonic manifestation of salivary glands of SS,the value of ultrasound in the diagnosis of SS,the severity of the disease, the activity of the disease, the prediction of tumor and the follow up of the patients will be reviewed,to provide evidence for early diagnosis and treatment of patients with SS.
