Optical testing the vast tertiary mirror of Thirty Meter Telescope

  On the basis of summing up the difficulties of testing large flat mirror,for the sake of testing large and vast surface especially for TMT-M3(the tertiary mirror of Thirty Meter Telescope)with efficient methods,a new technology syncretizespentaprism scanningmethod and SSI(Subaperture Stitching Interferometry)has been proposed.The large mirror will be tested by pentaprism scanning and SSI successively,the basic principle of the metrologyhas been introduced and researched,and an reasonable optical testing project of TMT-M3 with the aperture of 3.5m×2.5m has been made,the flow chart,pentaprism design,and aberration fitting of pentaprism scanning,the optimumstitching algorithm,testing plan and experimental validation of SSI with the aperture of 800mm have been analyzed particularly.
