语言是文化交流最基本的方式。称谓语是人们平常生活中使用较广泛的语言,称谓语的使用是否得体,关系到人际交往能否顺利进行,关系到人际关系能否更好地维系与发展。由于文化传统、社会制度、历史风俗等的不同,汉语和英语在称谓体系上存在较大差异。本文运用比较的研究方法,从亲属称谓和社交称谓两方面比较英汉称谓体系的异同,进而分析形成这些差异的文化因素。与英语称谓系统相比,汉语称谓系统比较复杂、严谨、名目繁多,这一现象与英汉文化中等级制度与影响,礼仪规范与伦理道德,价值取向等方面存在的巨大差异密不可分。本文通过对中英文化差异的揭示,让学习者在尊重各国文化差异的基础上正确地使用称谓语,从而增进彼此间交流,促进人际关系的和谐。
Language is the most basic way of cultural exchange. Appellation is the most widely used language in people’s daily life, the proper use of appellation terms, the smooth progress of interpersonal communication, the relationship between the interpersonal relationships can be better maintained and developed. Due to the different cultural traditions, social systems and historical customs, there is a big difference between Chinese and English in the appellation system. This article uses comparative research methods to compare the similarities and differences between English and Chinese appellation systems from relatives and social appellations, and then analyzes the cultural factors that form these differences. Compared with the English title system, the Chinese title system is more complex, rigorous, and more famous, which is closely related to the huge differences between the hierarchical system and influence in English and Chinese cultures, the ritual norms and ethics, and the value orientation. Through the revelation of the cultural differences between China and Britain, this paper enables learners to use the appellation correctly on the basis of respecting the cultural differences among different countries so as to promote mutual exchanges and promote the harmonious interpersonal relationship.
