The aim of this work is to study the upper bound and achievability of degrees of freedom(DoF)for the K-user MIMO Y channel.We first derive a new DoF upper bound which is tighter than the existing bounds.Then,we propose a new transmission framework,named generalized signal alignment(GSA).We prove that with GSA the new DoF upper bound is achievable when N|M∈(0,2](∪)[K-2,+∞).This reveals that the DoF capacity of the K-user MIMO Y channel is derived at the given antenna configuration.
