Palladium nanoparticles (Pd NPs) modified ITO electrode was successfully prepared by electrochemical deposition method on the surface of conductive indium tin oxide (ITO) substrate.The Pd nanoparticle on ITO electrode was characterized by the observation with scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and cyclic voltammetry (CV).As-prepared ITO modified palladium nanoparticles electrode (Pd NPs/ITO) displays typical electrochemical activity in alkaline solution at room temperature.The electrochemical mechanism was studied from investigations of electro-oxidation and reduction processes during different potential ranges.It is demonstrated that Pd NPs/ITO is a promising electrode for electro-catalyze oxidation of different alcohols,especially for methanol,implying potential applications in fuel cells and sensors.
