  Through the first-principles calculations and the advanced evolutionary search strategy in combination with the necessary experimental measurements,we reported on the phase stabilities,structural characterization and their relationship of the W-B system.The originated characterized WB4 was theoretically uncovered to be neither stable nor superhard,in agreement with the recent first-principles calculations.
