Microfluidic fuel cells (MFCs) have been regarded as promising miniaturized power sources for portable electronic devices (such as tablets and smart phones) and sensors [1].For the MFCs with planar anodes,however,a fuel concentration boundary layer can develop over the anode due to the consumption of electrochemical reaction and the ineffective diffusive fuel transport,thus making the cell performance fuel transfer limited.Different from planar electrodes,Kjeang et al.proposed a three-dimensional MFC using graphite pencil leads as the cylinder electrode [2].
