Our preliminary results on improvement in hydriding combustion synthesized (HCSed) Mg-Ni-C composite by addition of NbF5 catalyst using ball-milling for 10h,showed hydrogen absorption capacity of 5.31wt% at 100℃ and 5.46wt% at 250℃ [1].However,the process optimization for mixing of catalyst by quicker and less energy-consuming manner is desirable for its commercialization. In present investigation an evaluation of origin of observed improvements due to milling parameters used for addition of NbF5 on properties of MgNiC composite synthesized by HCS are studied and compared.
