  Understanding of pulse scattering in an elastic half space is important in structure design, surface crack detection, seismology and signal processing.When a solid is pre-stressed, it may exhibit properties which do not exist in a stress-free body.For example, an initially isotropic material may have anisotropic wave characteristics when it is subject to a pre-stress.Another well known phenomenon is that the Rayleigh surface wave speed becomes a function of pre-stress for a pre-stressed half-space, and for some critical pre-stresses the Rayleigh wave speed may vanish, signaling the onset of surface wrinkling [1, 2].Generally.it is difficult to find closed-form solutions for a pre-stressed structure under arbitrary dynamic loading, although closed-form solutions can give useful details about the dynamic characteristics of the structure.
