  The global bifurcations and multi-pulse chaotic dynamics of a simply supported composite laminated cantilever plate under combined in-plane and transversal excitations are investigated in this paper for the first time.Based on the Reddys high-order shear deformation theory and the model of von Karman type equations for the geometric nonlinearity, the formulas of motion for composite laminated cantilever plate subjected to the in-plane and transverse excitations are derived by using the Hamiltons principle and Galerkins approach.The extended Melnikov method is improved to enable us to analyze directly the non-autonomous nonlinear dynamical system.
