Interest in natural fibres for structural applications is gaining pace.Biocomposites (a combination of natural fibres and a resin matrix) have the potential to be used in applications currently occupied by wood or synthetic fibre composites (fibreglass).Natural fibres, such as kenaf, flax and hemp, have low embodied energy and are a renewable resource that can be grown annually.
