Microfluidic biosynthesis of Au–Ag bimetallic nanoparticle in a tubular microreactor based on simultaneous reduction of HAuCl4 and AgNO3 precursors in the presence of Cacumen Platycladi (C.Platycladi) extract was studied.Au–Ag bimetallic NPs with Ag/Au molar ratios of 1:1 and 2:1 were synthesized, respectively. The alloy formation, morphology, structure and size were investigated by UV–Vis spectra analysis, transmission electron microscopy (TEM),high resolution TEM (HRTEM),scanning TEM (STEM),energy dispersive X-ray (EDX) analysis. In addition, the flow velocity profile was numerically analysed with computational fluid dynamics (CFD).Importantly, the process could be described as "rapid synthesis technique" and "green chemistry" since microreactor was employed and no additional synthetic reagents was used. Our work is anticipated to provide useful parameters for one-step continous-flow biosynthesis of bimetallic NPs in microreactors.
