As the hydroelectric generating unit of 1000MW-class enters developing stage, it has brought forward higher demands for generator-transformer unit protection.Through analyzing the impacts caused by the characteristics of structure and parameters of 1000MW-class hydroelectric unit,and combining with the protection schemes of the present 700MW rating large-scale hydroelectric unit,the illustrations of protection schemes for 1000MW-class hydroelectric unit were put forward.Meanwhile,a number of key technologies were introduced such as high- performance protection for internal faults,CT saturation detection,stator earth-fault protection with voltage injection principle,rotor earth-fault protection with voltage injection principle,loss-of-excitation protection for large-scale salient pole generator,etc.
