In order to investigate the failure probability of thermal barrier coatings (TBCs) eroded by solid particle,a semi-theoretical erosion rate model of air plasma spraying (APS) TBCs was established.Based on this model,a numerical simulation was conducted to investigate the erosion of TBCs on blade surface eroded in actual gas stream.Then,probabilistic methods were used to quantificationally assess the reliability of TBCs and sensitivity analysis methods were used to obtain the key parameters influencing the reliability.It is found that the reliability of TBCs are significantly affected by turbine outlet pressure,rotor rotational speed,coating thickness and lamella thickness.The reliability can only be improved by adjusting the process parameters to properly increase the coating thickness and decrease the lamella thickness,for outlet pressure and rotational speed cant be controlled.
