For large-scale steel structures, the effect of sunshine temperature loading is significant.Although the sunshine temperature field is the most complex of all the temperature fields, the calculation model of sunshine temperature field was discussed by many researchers.They pointed out that the sunshine radiation will cause the nonuniform thermal distribution of the structure, and, the degree of nonuniform becomes more serious in the construction stage.The effect of nonuniform thermal distribution on plane steel structures was studied with the help of a Computer Program SAP2000.The results based on structures under uniform thermal distribution and under nonuniform thermal distribution show that the design was controlled by the later case in most situations.Then the concept of the most unfavorable temperature distribution was brought forward.And the unfavorable temperature distribution of a plane frame structure was given.At last, the effect of nonuniform thermal distribution on three-dimensional space frame structure was also discussed.It shows that, comparing with the structure under nonuniform thermal distribution, intermediate members of the structure was unsafe when using the uniform thermal pattern.
