The bacterial diversity in cold habitats has received much interest recently.We studied the culturable heterotrophic bacterial diversity of two continental glaciers—No.1 (Xinjiang No.1 glacier) and TM (Toumingmengke glacier) and two maritime glaciers—MD (Midui glacier) and HLG (Hailuogou glacier) in China.About 1000 isolates were picked from samples after incubation at 15℃.
